Federal Pell Grant facts

Federal Pell Grants, the largest source of federally funded grants, are awarded solely based on your financial need (academic grades and extra-curricular activities aren’t a factor). The maximum award for the 2017-18 academic year is $5,920. The U.S. Department of Education determines your eligibility based on your answers on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You must also meet general federal student aid eligibility requirements.

Don't forget to complete and submit the FAFSA as soon as possible, beginning October 1. Aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received. See official rules at SallieMae.com/SweepstakesRules.
